The Austrian outfit currently tops the AutoGP driver and team standings
Following a merely perfect AutoGP season opener in Budapest – nummer 1 driver Antonio Pizzonia is leading the standings with P1 and P2 in the first two runs – Zele Racing is now heading for more in Silverstone.
While racing’s elite category is battling for points in Monaco, Zele will attempt to extend their lead in the F1 feeder series at the „Home of British Motorracing“.
“It is of course a nice feeling to come to England atop. The track is an absolute classic and when AutoGP was here last, we finished on the podium”, team boss Michael Zele recalled.
The team will again line-up Pizzonia (Brazil), Luis Sa Silva (Angola) and Andres Mendez (Colombia).
“Tonho will try to widen the gap in the standings, after all he won the 6 hrs of Silverstone in the Nissan Deltawing (LMP2) in 2013. Luis knows the track from his GP3 spell and can make it to the podium. Andres will gain more experience, but also knows the circuit from racing in Formula Renault.“
Friday’s qualifying will start at 4 pm, Saturday’s race at 1:25 pm and the Sunday race will go green at 1:30 pm. Both races are shown live on Eurosport.
