In 2015, the Austrian outfit will compete both in the AutoGP Series and the new Renault RS01 Trophy
In bright spring sunshine, Zele Racing Wednesday presented its ambitous plans for the new racing season. The Austrian top team will enter its fourth season in the F1 feeder series Auto GP, but also be the country’s only team in the maiden year of the Renault RS01 Sportscar Trophy.
At the AutoGP opener in Budapest coming weekend Zele Racing will field ex-F1 ace Antonio Pizzonia, Luis Sa Silva and Andres Mendez.
„We have long been working on our line-up and I am convinced we have found a strong trio in Antonio, Luis and Andres. Last season, we had one win and six podiums to our tally, so the aim is to improve on that track record”, team boss Michael Zele said.
For the first time in team history, Zele Racing will also participate in sportscar racing. “It was simply time to give it a go and we will see, how we fare with the Renaults.”
The Renault RS01 Trophy adventure starts in Spa-Francorchamps on May 30.
