“Jungle Boy” stays with Zele Racing

Pizza1The Austrian outfit continues to work with the Brazilian ace Pizzonia

Zele Racing will enter its fourth AutoGP season with Antonio Pizzonia and Andres Mendez behind the wheel.

The ex-Jaguar F1 and BMW Williams ace gave a comeback in AutoGP at Zele finishing on the podium at the 2014 season closer in Estoril. Following talks last Christmas, he has decided to continue his spell with the Austrians.

„We are happy to continue working with Antonio. He is a great driver with a lot of experience. Budapest is a track, he already knows, so we are confident to do well”, team boss Michael Zele said.

Pizzonia, who already has two AutoGP race wins in Curitiba to his name, is in top shape. Despite arriving a day late at the pre-season tests in Vallelunga, he quickly managed to pick up the pace rounding off the tests with the fastest overall lap time.

“I really enjoyed the race weekend in Estoril last year. Michael and his team are great to work with and the car is great fun driving with”, the “Jungle Boy” said.

The 2015 AutoGP season opens with the race weekend in Hungary on May 2, where Zele Racing finished runner-up last year and also clocked the fastest lap of the race.
