Luis Sa Silva will drive for the Austrian outfit at the final race of the season in Estoril
The 24-year-old African will use the GP3 Series break after the inaugural Russian Grand Prix in a fortnight, to race with Zele in the AutoGP World Series season closer in Portugal on October 18/19.
Sa Silva, who came runner-up in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge in 2009 and in the Formula Pilota China two years later, is already excited to race in the 550 HP Lola machine.
“It will be quite a difference driving such a powerful car, but I am really looking forward to it”, he said. “It is also a nice coincidence that the event is in Estoril, because I know the track really well, as my second home is actually not too far away.”
Teamboss Michael Zele is happy to have Sa Silva on board saying: “I have known Luis for quite some time, since I was his race engineer, when he first drove a Formula car in Europe. Funnily enough, that test in 2008 with Motopark Academy was also in Estoril.”
In Portugal, Zele Racing will return to the grid after sitting out the Germany event on the Nürburgring last month.
“Being back on the track, we certainly want to do well and attack the podium. Luis is a very talented driver and it’s good having him on board for this event.”
Both races will be held on Sunday – starting 11:50 am and 6:30 pm local time – and broadcast live on Eurosport.
