The Austrian outfit will compete in its first home event this weekend, when the AutoGP World Series visits the Red Bull Ring
With one victory and four more podium spots Zele Racing has become the third force in only its third year in the series. Thus, the team wants to do particularly well on home soil at the Red Bull Ring.
Swiss talent Christoph von Grünigen, who tested with the team in Spielberg in spring, has “every chance on a podium spot if nothing unusual happens“, team boss Michael Zele is certain.
Von Grünigen, who has earned himself a spot with Zele Racing dominating Formula ESET V4 in 2014, already started from the front row in his first two AutoGP events this season in Monza and Imola. “But he was pushed into the gravel in both races by rivals and thus could not score big points”, Zele added.
Who will run the team’s second car is not clear yet, as both previous drivers are battling financial straits.
At the Red Bull Ring, where AutoGP is supporting the European Le Mans Series, both races take place on the same day – Race 1 is on Sunday at 8:30 am, Race 2 at 11:40 am
