Following Friday’s technical troubles Kiss caught up in qualifying, von Grünigen with decent result
Working overnight, the Zele mechanics saved the day for poor Tamas Pal Kiss. The Hungarian team leader had a disappointing start to the weekend with a misfiring engine and was forced to sit out most of Friday’s free practice.
However, Tamas made a great comeback in qualifying and nearly matched the pace of the top flight, despite having just a few laps under his belt. In the end, he finished on P6, but within striking distance to Polesetter Markus Pommer.
Rookie Christof von Grünigen enjoyed a good run and placed his car on P8, ahead of defending champion Vittorio Ghirelli.
