Zele Racing’s Kiss tops Friday sessions

Kiss11Tamas Pal Kiss was the fastest man in the free practice sessions at the Circuit Paul Ricard for round two of the 2014 AutoGP World Series

“We were already fast in Marrakech, but unlucky in the races. So I knew, we have the pace and I really enjoyed today’s outings”, the Hungarian driver said.

Kiss, who came from 12th on the grid last weekend in Morocco to finish on the podium, topped the time sheets Friday, having lapped the Le Castellet track in 1:17.808 minutes. He outpaced championship leader Kimiya Sato by 1 ½ tenths.

His new teammate Yoshitaka Kuroda gradually improved his lap times as the day went on and finally came 9th in 1:19.479. “The more track time I had, the more confident I felt. I was constantly getting quicker, so I am content,” he said.

Team boss Michael Zele is confident that “we should be able to battle for the front row again in qualifying and for a podium finish in the race on Saturday.”
