Tamas Pal Kiss showed an immaculate second run for the Austrian outfit in the Marrakech Grand Prix to finish 3rd, while teammate Sergio Campana suffered a technical failure
At another boiling hot day in the Northern African town of Marrakech, Morocco, Tamas Pal Kiss came from bottom of the grid to earn his first podium finish of the season. The Hungarian, who had fallen victim to a shunt leading the race the previous day, overtook no less than ten cars to come third.
“It was an amazing run. I knew it was do or die today, but the team gave me a great car, so I could attack,” Tamas was all smiles. “We knew, we were fast, as we already had the quickest cars on the track all weekend. This podium is at least some consolation for Saturday’s race, which we could have won”, team boss Michael Zele added.
Zele Racing’s other driver Sergio Campana suffered a gearbox problem and a subsequent clutch overheating which led to retirement in the opening lap of the race.
AutoGP will return to Europe for the next round, which will be held at Le Castellet, France next weekend, on April 19-20.
