Sergio Campana and Tamas Pal Kiss will start from P3 and P4 for Austrian outfit Zele Racing in the upcoming Marrakech Grand Prix, but are not all delighted
“We had high expectations coming here, so P3 and P4 are OK, but we were hoping for more. The changes we made after free practice didn’t have the effect, we desired. Thus, we have some more work ahead to prepare two perfect cars for our drivers for tomorrow”, team boss Michael Zele said.
At boiling hot temperatures in the Northern African town of Marrakech, Morocco, both Zele Racing drivers easily made the Top 10 in the first qualifying segment to proceed to the final stage. For long Tamas Kiss (1:29.438) seemed the faster of the pair, but in his final run, Sergio Campana (1:29.358) edged out his team mate to move up to third place on the grid.
“It was a good session, but we there was more in it. I have good memories of this track and I believe we can battle for victory tomorrow”, Campana said. The Italian won Saturday’s event in Marrakech last year for Ibiza Racing, while Zele Racing triumphed in Sunday’s race thanks to former F2 champion Luciano Bacheta.
Team mate Kiss was also slightly discontent, “because we could even have been quicker. The second row is a good basis for tomorrow. Marrakech is a narrow, but fast street circuit, where anything can happen.”
