Hungarian racing talent Tamas Pal Kiss convinced at the final preseason tests of the AutoGP World Series driving for Zele Racing
In Valencia the final preseason tests for the 2014 AutoGP World Series Austrian outfit Zele Racing impressed. Tamas Pal Kiss was top of the standings after day one. Having lapped the Circuito Ricardo Tormo in 1:21:197 minutes, the 23-year-old improved Adrian Quaife-Hobbs‘ best from 2012 (1:23.480) by an incredible two seconds.
More to come
„I am absolutely delighted to be back racing in the car. Following these test results, I am of course highly motivated“, Kiss said. And team boss Michael Zele analysed the sessions along the same lines adding: „Day 1 was actually just a shakedown to see, whether the way we had setup the car in winter was OK. But then Tamas smashed the record. Although it was further improved on a much better track on day 2, Tamas also went faster despite running on a different programme with used tires. And at the top speed trap, he was also undisputed.”
Through the backdoor
Kiss joined Zele Racing in 2013, replacing unlucky former F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan. He felt at home immediately and despite missing four runs, he finished fifth in the overall standings at the end of the season. Thus, teamboss Michael Zele always saw extending his contract as an option. At the 2014 season opener in Marrakech on April 11./12. Kiss will team up with championship co-favourite Sergio Campana. The races are broadcast live worldwide on Eurosport.
