Cameron Twynham (GBR), Richard Gonda (SVK) and Artem Markelov (RUS) have been confirmed as Zele Racing’s trio at AutoGP’s official 2014 tests in Jerez at the end of the month.
Celebrating their maiden victory and several podium finishes in their second year in AutoGP, Austrian outfit Zele Racing is ready for more in 2014. Thus, team boss Michael Zele will field several racing talents at the series’ official tests in Jerez de la Frontera on 28/29 October.
British rising star Cameron Twynham will get behind the wheel of a Zele racer, following his strong displays in the European F3 Open Copa, where he is runner-up ahead of the season finals in Barcelona in early November. “We´re really happy to have Cameron with us for the official AutoGP testing at Jerez next week. His performance in the F3 Open was improving rapidly throughout the year and we´re delighted to have another promising and very talented driver in our team”, team boss Zele said.
Twynham is joined by his fiercest title rival, Slovak ace Richard Gonda, who is leading the F3 Open Copa standings by 13 points. “Richard is a highly talented driver and he has all it takes to reach the top ranks of motorsport. We are very much looking forward to having him on board for the tests in Jerez,” Zele added.
Russia’s Artem Markelov will be the third shooting star testing for Zele in Jerez. The 19-year-old scored two wins and an incredible 21 podiums in the German F3 championship to finish runner-up in only his third season in open-wheel-racing. “We have been following Artem’s development in F3 and we believe he is ready for this opportunity”, Zele is convinced.
